August 2019 Event News

Three more Lancashire businesses, including one former winner, are backing the the Sub36 Awards by signing on as sponsors - with the deadline for entries less than three weeks away.

The Sub36 Awards are Lancashire Business View’s celebration of the next generation of employees, entrepreneurs and young businesses.

The event returns for its third year under the Sub36 brand (formerly Young ‘Uns) with an improved package of support for the winners, including access to a bespoke mentoring programme provided by Northern Mentoring Programme and a 12-month pass to high level coaching from Sales Geek via its academy.

The deadline for entries is September 2, and winners will be announced at the prize-giving ceremony at Winter Gardens Blackpool on October 17.

Blackburn College, PDS Engineering of Nelson and Tailor Made Sourcing of Colne are each supporting the campaign as category sponsors, which will see their branding included in Sub36 marketing materials, in the official programme, online, around the venue at the ceremony - and the opportunity to present the trophy to the winner of their chosen category.

Annette Weekes, managing director of PDS CNC Engineering, previously won the award and has now signed on as sponsor of the Innovator Award.

She said: “I have seen first-hand the importance of these awards, how it can boost an individual’s career and benefit their wider business, too. It was fantastic to be part of the event as a nominee and winner, and now I’m excited to help other individuals and businesses by supporting these awards as a sponsor and I look forward to mentoring too. Innovation is key in our sector so this category is a fantastic fit – we encourage all those doing things differently to consider entering or nominating!”

Blackburn College has returned for another year as sponsor of the Leader Award category.

Claire Shore, senior business development manager said: “The Sub36 programme is an excellent showcase of the up-and-coming talent across our county. We have been privileged to work with and mentor previous Sub36 winners and know how much they value the investment in their own skills and the skills of those around them.

“We are proud to sponsor the leadership category as we are a keen supporter of Lancashire businesses, and we are very aware of the value of skills development for young individuals and the companies they work in - and often run.”

Fast-growing recruitment firm Tailor Made Sourcing is a first-time sponsor, backing the Employee of the Year Award.

Hannah Lowe, the firm’s financial director, said: “Tailor Made Sourcing is delighted to be working with Lancashire Business View and sponsoring the Sub36 Young Employee of the Year Award 2019.

“The Sub36 programme is a fantastic way to recognise and support young people in business in the county and we look forward to hearing the success stories at the judging stages. We encourage businesses of all shapes and sizes to get involved and nominate their star staff members for this category!”

Headline sponsor of the awards is Fat Media and the mentoring partner is Northern Mentoring Programme. The awards are also sponsored by Begbies Traynor, Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, Pennine Wealth Solutions, Printing.com Lancaster, Sales Geek, The Rovers Events, True Bearing Financial Planners and Winter Gardens Blackpool.
