We asked former winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Inspiration Award 2017, David Price what it was like to be involved in the awards.
David is a property developer and owner of 10ACIA based in Leyland.
Why did you enter Sub36 Awards 2017?
I respected what the awards stood for and the gravitas of the previous winners. I entered for the brand recognition and the story it could tell for our growing company.
How did you find the entry and judging process?
Very straight-forward. Simplistic. Fair.
What was it like to win on the night?
Absolutely incredible. The awards mean a lot. It was great to be able to share the experience with the team who haven’t been to these things before, and to have family there too on such a good night was amazing! I was very honoured.
How have you benefitted from winning the award?
We’ve had coverage in the local press. It helps to build the company brand and showcases that we take business very seriously. It also boosts our personal business profile for raising further investment and gives sellers of land or services more confidence in dealing with us.
Do you have any words of advice for those thinking of entering this year?
100% do it! If you have passion for what you do, be yourself and let that shine through. You don’t need to be a ‘polished’ business person. Everyone’s just human. So you should shout about what you’re proud of representing, and how much you’ve achieved - it will inspire others to reach further.
